Additional Information:

MIDI, designed about 1983-84 allows digital equipment to “talk” to eachother in a non-analog environment. The standard uses as 5-pin DIN plugbut the circuitry uses three of the terminals. Occasionally manufacturersof various gear will use the other two terminals for time code.
